No financial advice
Everything published on this site is general information and research, provided for educational purposes. It does not take account of your circumstances, objectives, financial position or needs, and it is not a personal recommendation.
Nothing on this site should be read as advice to buy, sell, hold or use any asset, product or platform, or as an offer or solicitation to do so. Before making any financial decision you should consider whether it is appropriate for you and, where relevant, obtain independent advice from a qualified professional authorised in your jurisdiction.
We are not regulated, and we do not need to be
We publish research. We do not hold client money, execute transactions, provide custody, manage assets or give personal recommendations, and therefore we are not authorised by any financial regulator and no regulator supervises our content.
One consequence worth stating: because we are not an authorised firm, complaints about our content cannot be taken to a financial ombudsman, and no compensation scheme applies to decisions made on the basis of anything you read here.
Crypto earn products carry no deposit protection
This is the single most important thing on this page. Crypto savings accounts, staking products, lending platforms and DeFi protocols are not bank deposits. They are not covered by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the United States, by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme in the United Kingdom, or by any equivalent deposit-guarantee scheme anywhere in the world.
In the European Union, MiCA authorisation does not extend to crypto lending and borrowing, and MiCA safeguarding arrangements explicitly do not apply to assets used in lending programmes. A platform may hold a genuine authorisation and offer you an earn product that sits entirely outside it.
If a platform fails, you are likely to be an unsecured creditor in an insolvency process. You may recover some, most or none of your assets, and it may take years.
Rates, figures and dates
Advertised APY and APR figures change constantly, are frequently promotional, and are not guaranteed. Many apply only to a capped amount, to a particular loyalty tier, or before a commission that is disclosed elsewhere.
We verify every rate against the provider's own published sources and date it. Rates were last verified on . Despite that, figures on this site may be out of date by the time you read them, and you must confirm current rates and terms directly with the provider before depositing anything.
Where we describe a platform's licensing, regulatory status or corporate structure, that description reflects our understanding at the date of verification. Registration of a firm does not mean any regulator has approved, endorsed or guaranteed its products.
Risk warning
Cryptoassets are volatile and largely unregulated. The value of any asset you hold can fall as well as rise, and a yield does not offset a fall in price — a 10% reward on an asset that loses 40% of its value is still a substantial loss.
Specific risks in this category include, without limitation: platform insolvency or fraud; suspension of withdrawals; borrower default; smart-contract failure; oracle failure; loss of a stablecoin's peg; slashing penalties on proof-of-stake networks; loss of private keys; and irreversible user error. Our risk guide covers these in detail.
Never deposit funds you cannot afford to lose entirely.
How we are funded, and what that means
Some outbound links on this site are commercial partnerships, and we may receive compensation when a reader opens an account through one. Those links carry a sponsored attribute in our HTML.
Our editorial policy sets out in full how scores are determined, when they are set relative to any commercial discussion, and what we refuse to do. In summary: rankings are not for sale, scores are set before commercial conversations, and criticism is not removed at a partner's request.
You should nonetheless read anything on a site funded this way with that context in mind, and we encourage you to verify our claims against the primary sources we cite on every page.
Third-party sites and accuracy
This site links to external websites operated by others. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy or practices, and a link does not constitute an endorsement. All external links carry a nofollow attribute.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of what we publish and to correct errors promptly. We do not warrant that the content is complete, current or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on anything published here.
Jurisdiction and availability
Crypto products and services are restricted or prohibited in many jurisdictions, and platform availability varies by country and sometimes by region within a country. Nothing on this site is directed at any person in any jurisdiction where publication or availability would be contrary to local law.
It is your responsibility to ensure that any product you use is lawful and available where you live, and to comply with your own tax obligations.
Tax
Crypto earn rewards are taxable in most jurisdictions, commonly as ordinary income at the value on the day received, with a separate capital gains event on disposal. Our tax guide describes the general shape of the problem, and it is general information rather than advice. Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and may change. Obtain advice from a qualified professional in your own jurisdiction.
